The measure proposal establishes health requirements considering the requirements of the country or area of origin, farm of origin, animals, meat and edible offal, packaging and transportation, and the corresponding health certification.
Among the requirements are the following:
1. Edible offal is included in this project and the scope of the measure and product definitions are identified;
2. The country or area of origin must be declared free of avian influenza and Newcastle disease, in accordance with the provisions of the OIE, and this condition must be favorably evaluated by Chile;
3. The country or zone of origin must have a permanent surveillance program for avian influenza and Newcastle disease, complying with the conditions established by the OIE and favorably evaluated by SAG;
4. The stock of origin of the birds that give rise to the game of meat and edible offal, must be incorporated into a sanitary and productive program. In addition, it must have an official program for the control and reduction of Salmonella, approved and supervised by the official Service;
5. Poultry must have been born or imported as day-old chicks, raised and slaughtered in the country or exporting zone free from avian influenza and Newcastle disease. In addition, they must not have been vaccinated against avian influenza with live vaccines, and must have been slaughtered, processed and stored in an establishment that is authorized by the SAG, inspected pre and post mortem under the permanent control of an official veterinary doctor;
6. Meat and edible offal must be covered by an official health certificate, issued by the competent health authority of the country of origin, in the language of the country of origin and in Spanish.
