||Public consultation on the proposed amendment to Articles 169, 173 and 452 of the Food Health Regulations
The proposal amends the nomenclature of products that are currently classified as so-called dried fruits, to move to a more specific category: "tree nuts" this category includes groundnuts. Nomenclature amendments are made under different articles and microbiological criteria are established, in the light of the provisions of Microorganisms in Foods 8, ICMSF. New microbiological criteria for tea (Camellia sinensis) and mate (Ilex brasiliensis and I. paraguariensis) and herbs for infusions are also proposed, in addition to the nomenclature amendments. The grounds for the consultation are set out in the same document.
