Quarantine Requirements for the Importation of Animals and Animal Products |
| Summary |
The Requirements regulate the importation of animals and animal products. The amendments include Articles 2 and 6 of the Requirements and are summarized as follows; the rest of the Requirements remain unchanged:
1. For animals originating from a disease-free country (zone), but transshipped (with change of vehicles) in an infected country (zone) during transportation, they shall be deemed as originating from an infected country (zone). This does not apply to animals protected by appropriate risk mitigation measures which allow them to obtain prior permission granted by the central competent authority.
2. For animal products with risk assessment completed and concluded that there is no risk of disease transmission, with appropriate risk control measures taken and prior approval by the CCA for importation, these animal products may be imported from countries (zones) recognized as infected with specific animal diseases.
