Title Order concerning materials and articles intended to come into contact with food and penal provisions for violating related EU acts.
Summary

The Order aims to ban the placing of food contact materials of paper and board on the market, if polyfluorinated alkylated substances (PFAS) have been used in the manufacture of the material. The ban covers the use of all PFAS in food contact materials of paper and board. However, it will still be possible to place materials on the market, if PFAS have been used e.g. in recycled paper and board or in printing inks if the possible content of PFAS in the material is separated from the food by a functional barrier, which prohibits the migration of fluorinated substances to the food.
