Dự thảo Quyết định quy định việc thiết lập các yêu cầu hạn chế sử dụng một số dẫn xuất epoxy trong vật liệu và đồ dùng dự kiến tiếp xúc với thực phẩm, đồng thời thực hiện Quy định (EC) số 1895/2005 của Ủy ban châu Âu ngày 18/11/2005 về việc hạn chế sử dụng một số dẫn xuất epoxy trong vật liệu và đồ dùng tiếp xúc với thực phẩm.
Các yêu cầu này áp dụng đối với vật liệu và đồ dùng, bao gồm vật liệu và đồ dùng tiếp xúc thực phẩm dạng chủ động và thông minh, được sản xuất có sử dụng hoặc chứa một hay nhiều chất sau:
- 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane bis(2,3-epoxypropyl) ether (sau đây gọi là BADGE),
CAS số 001675-54-3, và một số dẫn xuất của chất này;
-Bis(hydroxyphenyl)methane bis(2,3-epoxypropyl) ethers (sau đây gọi là BFDGE),
CAS số 039817-09-9;
- Các novolac glycidyl ether khác (sau đây gọi là NOGE).
