Title	Proactive Release: Cabinet paper removing barriers to overseas building products
Summary	The Building (Product Certification) Amendment Regulations 2025 (the Regulations) signal the completion of the current legislative reform to remove barriers to using high quality overseas building products in New Zealand. The Regulations specify the decision-making criteria that must be satisfied for the:  Minister for Building and Construction to recognise groups of overseas standards and standard certification schemes chief executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) to recognise overseas certified building products or methods (mandating their acceptance by building consent authorities).  With the remaining provisions of the Amendment Act enacted, and the Regulations in force, recognitions by the Minister for Building and Construction and the chief executive of MBIE may commence
