Amends Exempt Resolution No. 7,214 of 2014 and establishes risk management measures to prevent the entry of Opogona Sacchari in plantations of host species. |
| Summary |
Due to the need to periodically update the phytosanitary import requirements of regulated articles based on new information available, especially on geographic distribution, hosts and routes of
entry of a certain pest, the following has been done:
− Updating of the host ornamental species of Opogona sacchari, establishing phytosanitary requirements for this pest in plants for planting of Aloe arborescens, Areca spp., Bismarckia nobilis, Phoenix spp. and Washingtonia spp.;
− Due to the internal feeding habit that Opogona sacchari presents, which makes it difficult to detect at the point of entry, and the great economic impact that its introduction, dispersion and establishment can generate in the national production of the species it affects, it is required that the material ornamental be monitored and analyzed under conditions of confinement under the Post-Entry Quarantine regime.
