| Summary |
On 26 September 2018, the European Union notified the draft Commission Implementing Regulation establishing a provisional list of high risk plants, plant products or other objects, within the meaning of Article 42 of Regulation (EU) 2016/2031 and a list of plants for which phytosanitary certificates are not required for introduction into the Union, within the meaning of Article 73 of that Regulation (G/SPS/N/EU/272).
The European Union would like now to inform its trade partners about the publication by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) of a Technical Report detailing the "Information required for dossiers to support demands for import of high risk plants, plant products and other objects as foreseen in Article 42 of Regulation (EU) 2016/2031". This technical report details all the information that third countries will need to submit to the European Commission in order for the European Union to carry out the risk assessment required for the authorisation of imports into the Union of plants, plants products and other objects listed as high risk plants. The European Union would like to highlight that dossiers shall only be submitted after the adoption of the Commission Implementing Regulation listing high risk plants, which is expected in December 2018.
