The draft Order provides for the approval of the List of categories of feed materials that may be indicated instead of certain feed materials when labeling pet food. It also establishes that feed that met the requirements of the feed legislation in force prior to the entry into force of this Order, but does not meet the requirements of this Order, may be produced, placed on the market and remain in circulation until the expiration of the minimum shelf life, but not longer than three years from the date of entry into force of this Order. The draft Order aims to implement the provisions of Commission Directive 82/475/EEC of 23 June 1982 laying down the categories of ingredients which may be used for the purposes of labelling compound feedingstuffs for pet animals. The draft Order is also notified under the TBT Agreement.
