| Summary |
This measure establishes phytosanitary import requirements for the seeds of cereal species, highlighting the following points:
1. It includes the phytosanitary requirements that the Official Phytosanitary Certificate must include, identifying the additional declarations that it must contain according to species and details the types of accepted treatments;
2. indicates other phytosanitary requirements such as that the shipment must be free of soil and plant debris, conditions of the containers and their labeling or labeling;
3. The seeds must comply with the requirements established by Decree Law No. 1,764 of 1977 that establishes standards for the research, production and trade of seeds and its Regulations and with the regulations for the control of plant species considered as weeds, in shipments of seeds of any species or origin that enter the country;
4. For Materials Genetically Modified by Modern Biotechnology, the importer must declare their genetic condition and comply with the regulations of the SAG, which establish the requirements for the admission and introduction into the environment of these materials;
5. Germplasms and samples must be subject to the same requirements as commercial consignments. Exceptionally, special conditions for the entry of these materials may be studied and upon express requests from the interested parties;
6. Indications on the inspection carried out by the SAG, at the point of entry for the physical and documentary verification of the phytosanitary requirements established for the imported shipment and the actions in the case of listed or unlisted pests that are potentially quarantine;
7. The phytosanitary import requirements for seeds of the following species: Triticum monococcum L. and Hordeum chilense, will enter into force once this Resolution is published in the Official Gazette;
8. The phytosanitary requirements for the importation of seeds of species regulated in this Resolution, not indicated in Resolution No. 9, will enter into force three months after their publication in the Official Gazette.
