Vietnam Sanitary and Phytosanitary Notification Authority and Enquiry Point

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is proposing amendments to the Plants for Planting Import Health Standard (155.02.06). The proposed amendments will add 28 pests to the pest lists on 24 host plant genera.

To manage the risk these pests pose to New Zealand, MPI is proposing to add phytosanitary requirements for each affected host genera. These updates include options for:

 Testing requirements in post entry quarantine;

 Extended duration of post entry quarantine;

 Requirements for pest free declarations on phytosanitary certificates.

These amendments are intended to address the risks associated with specific pest-host associations and to revise the relevant requirements, thereby enabling the continued safe trade of these plants.
