Tóm tắt	Health Canada's Food Directorate completed a detailed premarket safety assessment of a food additive submission seeking approval for the use of alpha-cyclodextrin as an emulsifying, stabilizing, or thickening agent in various foods. The results of the premarket assessment support the safety and efficacy of alpha-cyclodextrin for use as set out in the information document. Consequently, Health Canada intends to enable the use of alpha-cyclodextrin by modifying the List of Permitted Emulsifying, Gelling, Stabilizing or Thickening Agents, as proposed in the information document. The purpose of this communication is to publically announce the Department's intention in this regard and to provide the appropriate contact information for those wishing to submit comments, inquiries or new scientific information relevant to the safety of this food additive.
