This regulation is regulating the provisions regarding fish quarantine installation, which is one of conditions required for importing aquatic animals and its products into the Territory of the Republic of Indonesia. As used in this regulation:
Fish quarantine installation means a place along with its equipments and facilities that use to perform fish quarantine action, quality control and safety of fishery product. Carrier means fish and/or other material capable of carrying quarantine pests and diseases of fish (QPDF). Fish means all aquatic biota the life cycle of which takes place whole or partly in water, whether alive or dead, including parts thereof. Fishery product means the fish which is managed, processed and/or made as final product in the form of fresh fish or frozen fish and other processed products.
This regulation specifies as follows:
Intended use of fish quarantine installation;
Administrative and technical requirements that must be met by an installation to be eligible to be used to perform quarantine actions; Procedures for determining an installation to be a fish quarantine installation (including evaluating the feasibility of installation, the validity period of the fish quarantine installation certificate and the classification of the fish quarantine installation);
Procedures for extending the validity period of a fish quarantine installation certificate; Control and supervision mechanism of the fish quarantine installation management through inspection activities on the implementation of good quarantine practices, surveillance of fish diseases in quarantine installation, and sanctions mechanism for nonconformities.
