Any processed food produced, imported and/or distributed into the Territory of the Republic of Indonesia should comply with the requirements of maximum limits of microbial contamination stipulated in the Regulation of Indonesian National Food and Drug Agency Number 13 of 2019 on Maximum Limits of Microbial Contamination on Processed Food. This requirement does not apply for Commercial Steril Food.
Microbiological criteria in processed food include:
a. type of processed food;
b. type of microbes/microbial test parameters;
c. microbial limit;
d. sampling plan; and
e. analysis method.
Microbiological criteria are stipulated in the Annex of the Regulation.
At the time of this Regulation comes into force, the previous Regulation of Indonesian National Food and Drug Agency Number 16 of 2019 on Microbiological Criteria in Processed Food is declared no longer valid.
