The Department of Agriculture (DOA) is proposing to revise the DOA notification concerning the phytosanitary import requirements of Cannabis and hemp (Cannabis sativa) seeds for sowing from all countries as follows:
1. The Notification of Department of Agriculture, Re: Conditions for import of Cannabis and Hemp Seeds B.E. 2565 (2022), dated 10 October 2022, is repealed and replaced by this (Draft) DOA notification;
2. Cannabis and hemp seed lots are required to fulfil one of the following phytosanitary import conditions, and/or a combination of the two conditions addressing each of thirteen quarantine pests, i.e. Pseudomonas syringae pv. cannabina, Xanthomonas campestris pv. cannabis, Ditylenchus dipsaci, Arabis mosaic virus, Alfalfa mosaic virus, Hop latent viroid, Orobanche ramosa, Cuscuta europaea, Cuscuta pentagona, Striga angustifolia, Striga aspera, Striga densiflora and Striga hermonthica.
Cannabis and hemp seeds were produced in a country where the quarantine pests are not known to occur;
OR
Cannabis and hemp seeds were tested and found free from the quarantine pests.
